Interesting Thoughts and research

So, I was doing my usual reading of my news sites and came across an article entitled: Study: Conservatives have larger Fear Center in brain. Which struck me as kinda odd. From the article, they do point out that while the scans of the brain were done on adults, it does not say its causative. Ie: its not saying that the people studied were born with the larger fear center or if it was developed over time. Which was actually the thought I had after reading the first paragraph.
Because the narrative I see when watching Fox News (which... I know... my banner says to turn it off... but I do occasionally stop and watch... tho... if anyone asks... I deny it.) is typically that of fear, fear of the unknown, fear of whats different, fear of what could be. You want me to get into everything you should be afraid of... just ask me some time... theres a lot, and I know of them... However I've chosen not to let the fear run my life, I have also accepted that nothing in this life is safe, and that there are things in this life, more important than "temporary safety".
In my day job... seeing the big picture is a requirement, and seeing how little decisions along the way can put an entire company at risk from various little exceptions to policies. Since this is not an IT exclusive, the same holds true for lots of different areas of life, and one civil liberty after another is whittled away under the "threat" of terrorism by the Conservatives, yet the same crowd is up and ready to take up arms it seems over the richest 1% paying 3.something % more in taxes? really? They're fine with the government spying on *US* illegally... instantly being treated as a terrorist when traveling and all other manor of civil-liberties being taken, but when something that doesn't even affect them and has nothing to do with their "security", thats abhorrently wrong and unamerican.
It just seems like a huge disconnect with whats real. The remote possibility of danger seems to trump all in the minds of conservatives, and Fox News media bias. And with a study saying that their fear center is overly developed in the brain... seems to make sense of the otherwise sheer lunacy that befuddles me.
