Having a Baby!
October 28, 2009 Posted by mitch | family, life | 0 Comments
In case you haven't heard... My wife and I are having our first child. I haven't written about it before, not because I'm ashamed or anything. But its more about me not wanting to really share a lot of my private life on the internet for all to see. I'm actually really excited to see my baby girl. Its been a long time coming and up until 9 months ago, I didn't really know how I felt about it. But, Now... I'm honestly really, really excited, and I can't wait till December, I've been looking forward to it all summer!iPhone broken

well... its been a really long time... but now, my iPhone has broken. I don't really feel to bad about it... it was a First Gen 4GB model... and I've been wanting an Android based phone for the better part of a year now. So, if anything I'm a bit upset that it broke a week to early. As the Motorola Cliq isn't being released to the public until November 2nd. I've been back and forth over what phone I should get, and I've decided on the Cliq, mostly because its cheap... I've never used a phone with a full keyboard, so I'll be using that as a comparison too... I will probably Root the phone and put the normal android build on it too... instead of the Motoblur interface, because, if you didn't know, I'm not big into the social networking sites... I avoid them actually. Anyway... come next week I'll let you know how it works out.Depends on what your definition of truth is...

So... I'm annoyed.. I watch/listen to Hannity and Beck, and co... as much as I can stand anyway. I can't stand how they constantly remind you that they are the only ones telling you the "truth". And because I have other resources I use for information, I recognise the lies and the errors in the logic. Also... they appeal to people emotions more than they use actual logic. But this one I enjoyed alot... because apparently Fox New thought that being able to count was all they really needed to know how to do. Not needing to understand anything about how an economy works. Let me explain what I mean, then I'll show you what they did... With regards to the bad economy and the number of layoffs that have been being reported every month for the last 6+ months. If a person is laid off, gets hired some where else, and laid off again... thats still just ONE person out of work... NOT TWO. Yet, could show up as two in the layoff totals for one month or one in two different months. And yet, the "truthers" would like you to believe that its two... as is evident from this reporting of the "truth" from Fox New:
If you'll notice, they're claiming that 147 million people are unemployed in the US... Very interesting isn't it? Yet the Department of Labor says that the national unemployment rate is only 9.8%... and with a population of just over 300 million people in the US... Yeah, they're saying that almost 50% of the US is unemployed... really? REALLY?!?!?! and you believe they give you the truth? If they lie about something like this, something that a novice like me could spend more time writing this post than I did to look for evidence to prove their lies what about the things more complicated? When in all actuality at 9.8% of people being unemployed... that's 30,146,595 people. What a leap from 147 million isn't it? And, if your first response is to say that there are still 30 million people out of work and thats a big number... I will agree with you it is... however, also looking at historical data... back in 2007 when we wern't considered to be that bad off economically... the national unemployement in September of 2007 was 4.7%, which still means 14,458,064 people were not working. So in contrast... there are 15,688,531 people without jobs that had them back in 2007. Just to put things into perspective for ya...
